Learning Log 7

The literature performance is finally over ! :) Overall i felt that my group's performance was better then what we had expected it to be , this is because we had a lot of last minute preparations and we many of us were not very familiarized with our lines and so i felt that we performed better then our expectations but we were still quite disappointed as towards the end , many of us stumbled and we forgot our lines . I think i would recommend this performance as it showcases the talent that some people have in acting in a play . And overall i think that this literature performance gave us a beyond the classroom exposure , and it certainly makes learning literature more enjoyable , but at times , it's pretty stressful .

Learning Log 6

Recently in literature , we learnt about literary device , i thought it was nothing new as we were introduced to this in Secondary one already , but in Secondary two , we learnt more literary device like oxymoron and rhetorical , to me literary device is very interesting as it gives people a more specific term for a word or phrase , hence making it to understand and categorize . Overall learning literary devices has been a fun and interesting learning experience for me :)

Learning Log 5

By reading the unseen booklet , i have learnt how to understand and decipher an unseen poem better . Firstly , we have to find out the meanings behind the poem . Secondly we have to ask ourselves questions , and while reading the poems , making notes aids in our understanding of the poem too . Learning Log 4

The macbeth performance was rather enjoyable to me as i had a good laugh at my friends who had their make up drawn to loook like a witch . Through all these , i've learnt that preparations and rehearsals are very important as if you don't rehearse and get yourself prepared, on the actual day , you might not know what to do. Looking at other people's performance i felt that my group did not do very well , we did not speak expressively and we did not have many props . Something i would improveon would be meeting up more often and having more rehearsals so we would be more prepared , this time it was impossible as my two other group members were busy with their upcoming syf . If given a second time to perform , i will be more daring and mimic the voice of the witch , and touch up more on my costume to make it look more witchy .

Learning Log 3

For the the acting of witches , i was one of them who went up to read the witches speech and i read it monotonously which was pretty horrible , while the group after me used high and low pitched voice to bring out how a witch would have spoken , i thought it was good and they were really courageous , Mrs.Woo used a high pitched voice too , and it really sounded like a witch , really good :)

I did not really enjoy the lesson on act 1 scene 2 as i was late for lesson and i had to stand outside the class and to make it worse it the sun was really hot , to stand and attend lessons are really horrible , so to prevent this kind of situation from happening i will not be late for Mrs.Woo's lessons ever again .


I think that using the comic strip for act 1 scene 2 is really innoative , as this is a simpler way to make us remember the story plot and i think that illustrations are easier for the human mind to remember as it is more attractive compared to reading a whole chunk of words which you will soon lose concentration on .

Learning Log 2

Description of the witches:

When i saw the witches video on youtube , i find it pretty interesting as it really made me think that it was a witch due to the effects and the iway the people spoke that made their voice sounded so eerie . I hope that i will be able to read like them on the day of my presentation .

Discussion on superstitions:

I like the discussion on superstitions as we got to read other's superstitions , form therei know a lot of other superstitions and the one i have never heard of was "Say goodbye to your friend on the bridge , you'll never meet him again" This will makeme make sure that i will not say goodbye to my friend on the overhead bridge .

Presentation on superstitions:

Through the presentation , i know of more superstitions , but i did not really like it as some people were speaking way too softly as i wwas sitting at the back of the class , and i had to listen hard to get what they were saying , and some also had really long superstitions and it made me so sleepy , i thought they could just summarize and tell us roughly what the superstitions was about , short and sweet would be best .

Overall i enjoyed the whole experience of all the things we do during literature , i like literature as i think it is really interactive but i do not like it when we have to do a lot of presentations and a lot of memorizing of the different scenes . Thank you Mrs.Woo for making literature more fun and exciting (:

Learning Log 1

I have learnt how to write a cinquain , and also know what every line is used for(e.g line 1 is for the title) . The lesson gives me an impression of cinquain being a fun and expressive way of poem writing.During the lesson , i have learnt that there are rules for this poem that we have to follow strictly to . I suggest that we have more time to do cinquain poems in class , so we will be moreexposed to it and also familiarise with it , as sometimes it can be rather tricky . Overall it has been fun writing cinquain .
